A major problem currently plaguing the country is adulteration, and the FSSAI is conducting frequent raids. Today, the FSSAI banned the sale of Everest Food Products' blended asafoetida powder for non-compliance with food safety standards. Everest samples were found to be mislabeled and substandard. Some contained even 5% less alcohol than the prescribed amount. This same Everest was considered number one by the people and became popular because it spent crores of rupees on its publicity. If everyone had a TV in their home, People would see Everest's advertisements.
