A custodial torture case in UP’s Meerut has put police under scrutiny. Farmer leaders Digvijay Bhati and Mohit Jatav allege they were beaten and tortured by then-SSP Avinash Pandey. An inquiry followed, with policemen removed. Pandey was moved to DGP Headquarters, Lucknow.
