To make petrol cheaper..... The government started producing ethanol from sugarcane. But petrol hasn't gotten cheaper. On the contrary, 42 kg of sugar is now available for 60 kg (up to 40% more expensive). If all the sugarcane is used to make ethanol, sugar will inevitably become more expensive. Can you imagine? The government has done a remarkable job.
